The Popular Show Campaign 4 Introduces the Soldiers Group

From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of characters, and a exciting storyline showcasing divine entities, demons, and dark forces increasing in power within the urban setting.

Warning: Spoilers for the third episode of Campaign 4 lie ahead.

The Warrior Group Introduced

Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and presented the premier party of adventurers who will branch out from the central cast to undertake their independent quest, distinct from the other two tables.

The combat-focused team includes Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).

Why Split the Party?

Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the outset that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.

Hence, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the personal journeys before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Planners, and Seekers.

The Nature of the Warrior Group

Per the DM, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who are drawn to a typically action-packed fight-heavy story mode where diplomatic options are few and far between.

Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the combat party.

Why They Must Go

First, the party understands precisely where to head next after a violent initial meeting with the antagonists.

An old friend of Thjazi—whose death started the narrative’s action—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to sell off.

The traitor then paid off his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, above the city, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.

Individual Reasons

Additionally, each character has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:

  • The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks revenge.
  • The adventurer is familiar with Timmony and warns that it is a hostile location.
  • Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to execute the fighter and instead freed him, have no other options.
  • However, their reputation as important members in House Halovar could help the group enter places they usually can’t.
  • Additionally, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.

Fugitives

In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally too risky:

  • The rogue and The character are notorious outlaws.
  • Tyranny and The cleric defied the influential house and the army of fiends they are allied with.
  • Teor is marked for death by the clan.

This results in them little choice but to head to the remote area in quest for the antagonist.

Upcoming Developments

Based on episode three’s Cooldown, we learn that the combat party won’t be around next week, leaving the remaining eight participants to round up the Questers and Planners tables.

Viewers can look forward to learning which characters will be assigned to which table in the season’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
